About me

My name is Rik Vos and I am 22 years old. I am enrolled as student at Avans university of applied sciences, here I follow the education applied computer sciences.

I would describe myself as a hard worker who isn't afraid to learn new things. This is one of my biggest strengths but also a weakness. Sometimes it takes more time to learn something then to just go for a quick solution.

Accomplishments

Propedeuse Cum Laude, meaning the first year my average grade was a 8 or higher and with no exams below a 6.5 grade.

Work History

Professorship Mangosat

My graduation internship was conducted at Mangosat. Mangosat is a company specialised in setting up networks and maintaining them in remote locations where facilities are lacking. More over the project developed for Mangosat in the projects section.

Professorship smart energie

I was enlisted as intern at the professorship smart energy. The professorship smart enrgie is a group of research teachers and a lector. This group contributes to the world energie transition. The internship assignment was making a digital clone of a building, moreover this assignment in the projects section.

T'zusje

T'zusje is a chain of restaurants. This job contained interacting with guest, managing the orders and bringing the food and drinks.

Haaglanden Medisch Centrum

Haaglanden Medisch Centrum are the hospitals in The Hague. For this company I was part of the facilities management team. My job was to make sure that every item had a maintenance contract. Besides this i also managed stock of the items in the program Ultimo.

Avans hogeschool

My job for Avans was student assistant B. This would mean everybody of avans would come to me if they had problems with hardware or needed hardware. This job learned me a lot about different pieces of hardware and 3d-printers.

Remote test site

A application for remote sensoring in a world where no electricity or connection can be found. This is done using a LoRa network based on battery powered nodes contacting a base station where a connection with a satellite is established. This project consists of PCB development for a remote sensor fully ran on batteries. The embedded software written in c++. This software consists of 12 seperate libraries fully unit tested using throw the switch unity. For the source code click here.

Digital clone smart building

The digital clone is a tool used to test the response of a insulation schema and heating solution. This digital clone was used to test a newly developed battery for households recently invented by the TNO. The code is written in Python, TypeScript (Angular) and used PostgreSQL.

Breng me thuis

Breng me thuis is an location aware app designed to function as a Dutch Train travel guide. It calculates the fastest route to the closest station and from that station to your destination. This is done using the NS api and open street map. In this project we imlpemented the MVVM principles. It will pull train information from the NS Rest API and use it to make a travel guide to the desired destination (has to be NS station). The app is written in java with a friend of mine. Hue light alarm

Hue light alarm is an android app that uses the philips hue lights and their api to set the color of the lamps. With this app you can set alarms that wil light up the lamps when the set time is reached. This app can also be used to change the name of the lamps and turn them on or off. Festival planner

Festival planner is an windows application made in java. This application is made to calculate where the hotspots are in a festival. It has an build in calander where you can scedule festivals with certaint artist. The project was made with 5 other students. This project was done with two other students. ESP32 buzzer controller

This project was about writing embedded software for an espressif component. I decided to create a example on how you can use a wifi softap to control a passive buzzer where you can change the setting of the wave. Koning Avanius

Koning Avanius (King Avanius) is a fictonal figure we designed for this project. This application was created with the soul purpous to enrich the experience in a amusement park. For this amusement park we picked the Esteling (fictional Efteling). The story goes as follows: There once was a king that lost his password to the treasury and you will have to help him. This can be done by awnsering questions. When you have completed a treasure trail, you can deceifer the password. This project was done with five other students. The code is written in Java. Big AVR

This project contains excercises made for the uni ds 6 board. Uni DS 6 is an microcontroller board. The "Eindopdracht" contains the end assignment where an synthesizer. This synthesizer can be used to change the duty cycle and the frequency. You can also change the mode, so you can use the board as keyboard. Where buttons a0 to a6 will play the tones a to h. There is also a possibility to hardcode new songs. This project was done with two other students. The code is written in C. For the source code click here.

Doctor fitness test

Fitness test is an windows application made in c#. This application is made to calculate the fitness of clients for a doctor. It was designed so a doctor can communicate with clients and see their progress. This is all done through a BLE connection with a bike and heartrate sensor. This project was build with an client server architecture. The client can use VR glasses to visualize the test in a virtual world. The VR processing was done using an extern server to whom JSON packets were send to build the world and handle the camera position and bike. In this project was C# .net core and wpf used. De wegwijzer

De wegwijzer is an app made for the VVV. The VVV is the companie that helps tourist find their way around town. This app is designed so VVV's can program routes along all sighs of the city. From these routes the tourist can choose and read information about the points of interest. This app was made for school with a group of students. This project was done with five other students.
